And the countdown begins…

The sad note about this entry is that I read on a fansite that there are rumors of when the Open Beta is going to be closed for Blizzard to get ready for retail. WorldofWar.net states, in one of their news posts, that it will probably end on November 18th, because that’s the last date for the raid contest to end. Again, this is just a rumor…

Now, back to the hunter, I think that right now he’s level 18 or so, was going to check on WoW’s Forums (on the boards you can view your characters level) but it’s down. Anyways, yesterday was, IMO, the day that I really hunted like a hunter. I found some interesting articles about hunters, in which I learned that you could tame some kind of moves to make it easier (here and here). My friend Slatsky reminded me it, told me about Growl, which makes mobs aggro to pet so you can shoot without worrying of the mob running to you. Anyways, I did die yesterday night, my pet as well, but I think that it was less than ever. I even beated some special mob for a quest, I was like 17 and my pet was 16 or so, and we beated a mob that a level 19 rogue couldn’t :P Luck had something to do, tho, I have to admit it.

I did several quests, found out that there’s some kind of ghost in a lighthouse which is on the west coast of Westfall, which gives quests with nice items. My hunter uses a two-hand sword for now. It’s rather easy now, the only problems I’ve found so far are trying to beat level 20 elites T.T I’m also using my bear now because it kills things faster than the cat, and also my friend Slatsky said that they are the best overal since they eat almost any kind of food. I also passed a few hours taming a lot of mobs from Dun Morogh and Loch Modan to get a few skills of them, so far I got claw, bite and growl, on different levels, if I correctly remember.

Fishing is also nice… but it frustrates after a while because you can miss (a lot), so it’s just like real life… sit and wait.

Hopefully this weekend my hunter will hit 20+. I’ve done most of the quests that are possible for me to complete (not counting those elites that are hard for now). By the way, the ADSL rocks :D I think I’m missing something on this entry.. but can’t remember :P

Oh, before I end, those interested in the hunter class, nice resources of information would be the following ones:

World of Warcraft’s Hunters Forum
WorldofWar.net’s Hunter’s Hall
Apples of Azeroth

After so long!!!!!

My brother is just telling me that we just got ADSL installed in our place… hehe. Right now he’s making some speed tests, but he said that he tried WoW and the latency there was like 1xx (green), while on 56k it used to be on 500~1500 (yellow, most of the times red. For a long while we planned to have it (we’ve been using 56k since 1997 I think… lol), so sweet ^_^ We got a 256k ADSL line now. The problem here is that, compared to US, ADSL and Cable Modem are rather expensive, so it’s not as easy as there to get it, lets hope we don’t get hanged by the bills :P

I used to play a game called Lineage, and most of my deaths were related to isp-lag, so it was rather frustrating. On WoW, lag was rare (on 56k), tho, but still, it sucked on other things, like, for example, viewing a site with lots of images, or wanting to view a trailer (med-high quality)… on 56k that’s a no-no :P

By the way, if no one has noticed, now the headers on my blog rotate ^_^ Right now I’m using a nightsaber and a female night elf (I love her eyes, the effect is so cool), it might get expanded in a couple of days/weeks.

On WoW related, yesterday I got sleepy kinda fast, I could just level my hunter to 17… also died several times T.T I’m feeling that, even tho hunters are nice, when they have to solo it’s kinda hard, since their strong side is not melee. I still need to test it on instances, tho. All the talents that I’ve been getting has been invested on Beast Mastery spec (so far). My hunter is still on Westfall, I was told yesterday that certain mobs on Deadmines are no longer elite.

It’s certainly different

Yesterday my friend, Curain, could finally get into World of Warcraft, after fighting with his computer.. hehe. The bad thing is that I already started a Hunter on Closed Beta Servers… so it was kinda tiring to start all over again (not having sleeping for a couple of days… lol). I tried logging into Test Server 6 after my friend told me he could play but after the screen finished loading it just frozed… happened several times so I just gave up. After I went back to Closed Beta Servers, a lot of people were saying that Stress Test/ Open Beta Servers were getting hammered T.T

Anyways, I keep having fun with the Hunter Class. Even tho I die, there have been so many times I’ve been saved because I use pets, rather than my rogue that in certain situations he would have just a hard time.

I visited Ironforge to do a quest and noticed a Guild that has the following name

No comments about that one.. heh. What’s weird is that the people in that guild is increasing: several persons of my guild have already mentioned seeing the guild around lately.I’ve also been changing my hunt-style a bit… lol… what about underwater hunting? :P

Yesterday I did a lot of quests, I could level my hunter to 16 relatively easy, made for the first time on the char 1g and I could also tame another mob (learned that I could have up to three of them), this time was a bear that can be found on Thelsamar (Loch Modan).

At the end I moved to Westfall and I’m questing there. Yesterday I also learned how to make traps and I’m about to test it tonight. Hunter class rocks! I just need to test it on PvP, tho :P

Current Status: Gahlok, Dwarf Hunter, Closed Beta PvP Server, Level 16.
