After trying Moonkin spec in PTR, I started gathering a Moonkin Set like two weeks or so ago. It’s so good that things go as planned, tho (sarcasm), because I was counting with AV weekend to be next weekend, not this one. Yesterday I found out that it was going to be this weekend, so I had to kinda rush to finish getting whatever I could get (with reputation); I ended up with 643 spell damage and 12.40% spell crit.
Because of the rush I only had like two things enchanted: the cap (a blue) and the weapon (an epic), and none of the gear was gemmed, also, the set wasn’t even complete, it was something like this:

And still, with that, my damage was pretty decent, lol
My wraths were around 900-1k (critting for 1.5k~2k), starfires would go normally for 1.5k (critting for 3k~3.5k), and I don’t remember my moonfires, but they weren’t that bad. I was kind of surprised considering that I didn’t even have full epics nor all enchants and things like that.
I only lasted a couple of hours moonkin, tho. I did like it, compared to feral, it was so cool to PvP; as feral you have to get close, and even geared (all epics) the damage isn’t that great, but with moonkin the gear was mixed, the damage was so-so and I could just run away and stuff like that (which would be a pain if I were melee). The plan was to remain moonkin all the weekend, but I got bored, on PTR AV’s are a lot more fun, even if there were not 40 people in the raid, there were no AFKers at all, and also there used to be far more turtles, and it was kinda neat to make horde backoff (or lose territory and have to run back to base. In Live Realm we would have a full AV (40 people) and you could probably find 15-20 AFK, and the game would probably last 20 minutes (±), with none defending the base. In the five AV games I did as moonkin in Live Server I was usually at the top in killing blows, tho, lol.
But, oh well, I kinda want to get my moonkin set far more geared before I try again (so I can owwwnnn more, lol), so I will probably wait until next patch that they put in moonkin stuff (and I have time to run more heroics, get more badges and stuff like that). Probably next month…
As reference, it’s the very first time my character is moonkin.
Oh, and even tho I’m exalted with The Consortium, this month my bag came with 4 greens and 1 blue, gg.

Have you heard about the Moonkin itemization (possibly coming in the form of Heroic Badge loot) coming with the release of Zul’Aman? Pretty exciting – I know I’ll be building up my own leather damage set! Thanks for sharing your tale of brief Laser Chickendom. =)
Yeah, and I’m looking forward to it. Right now it’s a bit hard to get geared because usually there’s always someone that need the item more than you, even if it’s an alt; with most of the gear being cloth. Then with the patch it would be leather, and there shouldn’t be too much competition.
Not like I would stop being feral, tho, I wanted to try moonkin for pvp, which worked out relatively nice. My plan is to switch moonkin every AV weekend and get honor, but I might just probably wait until the patch to gear up nicely.
Here are a few suggestions on Moonkin Gear. I assume that you have completed all of the quests that could yeild gear and that you aren’t willing spend hundereds of gold for BOE epics. So I won’t suggest them.
Hands – Starlight Guantlets – Hungarfen Normal Underbog – These took me for ever to get before I had T4, but I convinced some guildies to help me get them and we were able to get to Hungarfen and kill him in 15 minutes. So If you are interested they are fairly easy to farm with a little help. Also if you are interested in a leather chest the one that drops off of Swamplord Musel’ek is nice also. I got rid of it only recently.
Legs – Kurenai Kilt – Kurenai Revered – 22g – There are better cloth items out there but no are as easy to get. You will have to grind a little rep to get it but given how close you are that should be easy.
Trinket- Xi’ri’s Gift – Sha’tar Revered – 17.5g – A nice little crit trinket. Plus damage is a much better stat than crit in my opinion, but this trinket is much easier to get than the alternatives.

I posted a comment here before. I don’t know if you deleted it or if some automatic process did. So I decided to post again.
I had some sugguestions for your Moonkin set that are fairly easy to get if you are interested.
The first is the Starlight Guantlets that drop of the first boss in normal underbog. These are the best leather caster gloves until T4. At level 70 you should beable to farm them fairly easy with 3 or 4 friends. When I got them my group of four lvl 70s was able to get there and kill him in 15 minutes. As a side note, if you are interested in a good leather chest, the one that drops off of Swamplord the third boss in normal underbog is pretty nice also.
The second is the Kruinie Kilt. It is a rep-reward that you can get when you are revered with Kruinie. It is fairly cheap at 22g, and you are not far from it in rep.
The third is the Crit caster trinket that you can get when you are revered with Sha’tar. I think it is about 18g.

Secondly tbh they do pwn but they will always be the butt of the jokes. Rarely do i see them in arena but when I do I often feel the “wrath” of them

how do you get a bag in the mail every month from the consortium? is there a quest you need to do cause i remeber getting one a long time ago but nothing since and i am exalted as well.
You have to go to Nagrand and take a quest south of Sunspring Post, after you take it you turn it in again and you get a bag.
Ughh i love being a pew pew chicken but i am resto for raiding cause there is no place for us for raiding with most guilds but ehhh.. when the patch comes out they r going to make a leather craftable moonkin set in LWing which is equal to that of the frozenshadow weave spellfire etc… mabye finally we can get into raids.. and in the new expansion they are talking about giving us i know here it comes.. a CC !!!!! that is right we might be able to run heroics and be actually looked for in trade which will be probablly the greatest day of my life lol
but for now we can only hope
