The site of the Battle of Mount Hyjal, the final conflict of the Third War, two gray peaks rise high above the surrounding forests. The arcane Well of Eternity lies at Hyjal Summit, and the great World Tree, Nordrassil, blackened and wounded in the Third War, stands over it. Divine magic permeates Mount Hyjal, and the animals that make their homes in its forests are more intelligent than any others. Nightsaber and frostsaber cats slink through the trees, while hippogryphs and chimeras fly it overhead. Bears and wolves prowl the forests. These creatures are friendly to the night elves that live here, but attack intruders. Winterspring Valley, near the summit, is a small realm of perpetual winter where blue dragons clash with night elves and frostsaber panthers.
Last night we had our first real night in Hyjal.

We fought against the first boss, Rage Winterchill.
Rage Winterchill, was a Lich employed by the Burning Legion during the Battle of Mount Hyjal. He possessed powers surpassing most other liches, and had a red/purple tint to his model. He is presumed dead.
The fight itself is not hard, what’s usually annoying is the trash. I think that all Hyjal works like this: you have to kill 8 waves of mobs and the last wave has the boss itself, so it’s not like other zones that you have to move around. At the beginning we had a couple of issues because some people couldn’t see the Death & Decay:
Death and Decay: Rage Winterchill channels this spell, dealing 15% of a players maximum life every second in an AoE of around 20 yards diameter. This AoE is positioned randomly on any raid member, and can be on his current location. Lasts 10 seconds.
But, at the end, it was something that was worked out.

And the common group picture.
By killing Rage Winterchill we got attuned to Black Temple, btw.
Later on we tried Anatheron, which is the second boss.
A cunning and horrifically powerful Dreadlord, Anetheron was second in the ranks of the Nathrezim only to Tichondrius himself (he later took the place of Tichondrius for a brief period).
Anetheron waited in the Twisting Nether, acting as emissary of Archimonde to Tichondrius. They grew agitated when they began to suspect the Lich King of treachery. But Tichondrius was confident that, despite his obvious ulterior motives, the Lich King was still providing the tools they needed to make way for the invasion. In a meeting in the Twisting Nether, Tichondrius assured Anetheron that everything was still well in his control.
He was one of the Dreadlords assigned to watch over the Lich King, and was one of the first Dreadlords to begin to suspect Arthas of being a threat to the Burning Legion.
Because Anetheron mentioned only Archimonde in the council with Tichondrius and Mephistroth, is has been inferred that he was loyal to the Defiler only, and held little loyalty to Kil’jaeden.
When Archimonde came to the world, Anetheron went with him, and served as a personal guardsman. When Tichondrius was killed by Illidan, Anetheron was given joint rule of the Scourge, alongside the deadly blood lich, Rage Winterchill.
Anetheron showed his tenacity when he led the Scourge against the Sentinels, Alliance, and Horde in the final, climactic battle for Mount Hyjal. He was put in charge of the demonic base camp when Lord Archimonde ascended to crush the World Tree. However, Anetheron was killed during the battle. He was not aware of his master’s death, and the sapping of his demonic powers until too late, and he and most of the Legion were slaughtered by Night Elves and their allies before they could escape.
We had a couple of attempts on him (the trash is more annoying than the fight itself), but it’s when the composition of the raid started to show up as an issue (not having the right classes?). For example, I was in charge of the infernals, but since they couldn’t be taunted it was an issue if someone hit them, it would take me a couple of seconds to get back aggro and then to pull, so it was a mess (we only have 1 hunter attuned and the misdirect was being used on the main tank). Hopefully it’s going that will be fixed this week.
