I’ve been PvPing as feral (in arenas) since last season, I kinda started late because nobody wants a feral in their team, so a couple of buddies made a team (Disc Priest, Warrior, Druid). Last season we got up to 1.7k.
A few weeks ago I thought about gathering a Resto PvP set to see if we could get higher ratings (we were standing around 163x). So this week I finally got something decent (like 380 resilience, 8k mana —unbuffed, more or less—, 1.7k healing and something like that) so, at first I thought that Dreamstate (34/0/27) was going to be a good option (after researching a bit), more with the team I had.
During the past few days I went to a couple of bgs to try out the build (I used to be Restoration pre-bc, but I don’t really have experience with moonkins). Eitherway, it seemed kinda fine, but after we went into the arenas we lost two games…
Then I decided to switch to full Restoration (8/11/42) to see if it helped, but, still, we also lost… so I ended going back to feral and we started winning.

The teams we met kinda burned us down fast (they used to focus first in the warrior, CCing our priest), and on some fights it seemed that I ran out of mana relatively fast (I don’t think mana burning was the reason but to tell the truth I wasn’t really paying attention), with all the hots I was throwing (not overwriting, tho). I don’t recall all but if I’m not wrong we met teams like: double warlock-healer, rogue-shaman-warlock and I don’t know what else.
Supposedly double-healing teams work out well, and when I’ve faced resto druids they always seem invincible, yet when I tried it it didn’t seem that well… (and even tho I haven’t healed in BC I was resto when they put Swiftmend in the game, and such).
The upside is that we had a rematch with one of the teams we lost to (when I was resto), that was after I changed back to feral, and we won (haha). It was nice considering that they were higher than us, so it should have hurted them (keep in mind that they won against us, but we got it back, somehow).
Dreamstate didn’t seem that useful, I was most of the times healing and I didn’t see any chance at all to do any sort of DPS. Maybe probably next week, during off raiding days, I might keep trying resto.

As dreamstate, you will be mostly healing in arenas, but the beauty is you can also do nice dps. It just takes some experience in knowing when it’s appropriate.
If you’re getting mana burned in arenas, you’re doing “it” wrong – stick to the pillars and use LOS whenever it’s incoming. Use /focus on the priest if you’re having a hard time keeping track of casts.
Even if one of you (healers) is CCed, your warrior shouldn’t die so easily. Make sure to tell him to stay in defensive stance when he’s focused, and even equip a shield and reflect a couple of spells if it’s really bad.
If there’s any more specific help you need, ask I’ll be happy to help if I can.
A druid should never stay in caster form when under attack, you are more like a rogue when you are being hit, get the hell out of there mainly. My first toon was a Druid, and I could not play like that, so I adapted to a Rogue is what I specialize in now.

I’m just going to say, stick with being feral. It’s generally hard to hop specs in arenas unless you feel comfortable with it in arenas. From the teams you faced though, I wouldn’t be surprised if you lost. Warriors are really squishy when it comes to casters. If it was a priest-war-druid combo though, I would think that the druid would be the full resto one and the priest disc/shadow. But that’s what I’ve noticed from experience.
my main is a druid only lvl 53 atm i think that resto is the best for druids i rember when i went full resto and i dont realy fight but i do heal a lot. when i do fight i can heal fast and run outa there so as a resto druid you can survive. Just last night i was takeing hits from 5 lvl 59s they couldnt kill me i kept healing till dash was ready and i got away. So stay resto ull love it when your good at it^_^.
yeah, resto is easy wtf sounds like you just were out of practice.
