For months I’ve been getting burnt of the game (booooooooring~), a couple of weeks ago I took a slight break of the game to see if it helped, but I can’t say I was missing it. So, effective today, my account has been cancelled.

I would have probably cancelled earlier, but I was waiting to finish the Brewfest event since it was the only one that I had missing for the Violet Proto-Drake.

Here are a couple of screenshots with my brother

I played World of Warcraft for over 4 years, started almost at the end of the Closed Beta (which ended somewhere around September – October 2004), went to retail in February 2005 and, since then, been playing the game. This is actually the first time I ever quit, and I really doubt I will come back unless something really good happens (Cataclysm? Nah, kinda ironic that they are just remaking old content with just a couple of new things, with all the money they are making —compared to other companies— can’t they be a bit more creative).

There are many other reasons of why I got tired of the game (so many stats to keep an eye, having to use spreadsheets and such to find out which loot was best, then stats changed and you had to remake it, monotony, etc.).

The game was probably fun until the last couple of months, for some reason I ended up thinking that WoW was just playing 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week, which seemed like a job (and not enough room to make other stuff). There were even weeks that I would raid 6 days per week, there’s not much fun about it.

I recall my first guild was Arsenal. I remember my rogue when it was main and after a while I ended up having to make a new character because I would have trouble getting runs (there’s when my druid was created and became the new main). I used to be resto all the way until 74, from there (up to 80) I switched feral.

After all the playing, I got three level 80′s (Alliance: Druid, Paladin Horde: Death Knight), two 7x’s (Alliance: Hunter and Rogue) and a bunch more lowbies. Probably the one I had the most fun leveling was the Death Knight, and that’s considering I had no money or heirloom items. My characters were born in Mal’Ganis, and I never moved out or leveled characters in other servers.

I haven’t moved yet to any new game, but I’ve been reading about (and checking) two: Champions Online and Aion. I’m just waiting to see how things turn out and then decide which one I will get on (I haven’t played any of them). I do admit I’ve been playing Mafia Wars lately (hehehe).

This website is one of the first WoW Blogs that came out back when the game was launched (along with Hogit). Ever since a hype for blogs and wow-related websites came out and a lot more people joined the blog ranks. Heck, if you searched in Google WoW Blog my website would come out ranked #1, until a bigger website organization came out and is currently ranked #1; can’t really compete (hehe).

I’d like to thank all of you, the readers, for keeping company on my website for so long. Keep in mind that the site is not dying, as soon as I decide where I’m going I’ll probably start writing about it. Probably in a couple of weeks there is more information regarding this.

Frostbolt.com

THE END (for wow — deleting it from my computer, new game coming up soon).

Before I start with the post I wanted to say that my site has been experiencing issues for probably a month or two. I’m not really sure what is going on but, of what I’m reading, it seems there’s something wrong with wordpress, which is causing some overload in my database. I don’t see what can be done to fix it, since there’s no wordpress update (I recently updated to 2.6.2 without any luck of it getting fixed).

I’m thinking about moving webhosts, but not sure. This is why the site takes so long to load (sometimes), or it says that the page doesn’t exist, or it doesn’t load or it gives a database error.

It’s really frustrating, and I apologize for the inconveniences. I’ll see what I can do about it this week.

———————-

As for the post, we’ve been having some good Kil’jaeden attempts

The last one was a 0.02% wipe…

It blows because we’ve been having to have attempts with such terrible lag and server issues that it gets frustrating to a point, like we are about to pull and when we get into the zone everybody’s skills start lagging and we wipe, or when you die and release your ghost shows up inside the instance, you rez and after a minute or so you get teleported alive to the graveyard (not to mention that if you rez and the boss is still up you die again).

Here’s more

In that picture we were all lagged. Notice Doomhandle, he triggered his rocket boots but, for everybody else, he was stuck in place with fire in his feet (and if you check the background there’s a ton of MEs wrecking someone, it probably took 5 minutes for my clones to kill that person, since they weren’t damaging the person).

This one wasn’t really lag, but funny: someone in the raid had Illidan’s dagger (or that was what they said in vent) and notice all the duplicates he got due to that

Saw the incredible amount of flames at the back? That is PLUS the rogue that was duplicated as well, hahahaha.

Here is what I was saying about dying and releasing, when the ghost showed up inside the instance

And then when you zoned out after the terrible lag you’d have to get stuck in the loading screen for a couple of seconds, for either showing up in the graveyard or getting into the instance.

So, yeah, please Blizzard, fix the CENSORED CENSORED ARGHHH #$@&*(#(@$& DAMNNNNN lag and server issues, we’ve lost a lot of time waiting for lag to go off, then when we start it comes back again, then we wipe terrible and have to wait again. It’s relatively acceptable if there’s lag the same patch day, or the day after, but it has almost been a week or so and the server still have issues. Invest some of those +10 million subscribers money into some server fix. Mkkkay? Thx, bai bai.

First of all, I hope you all had a great New Year, best wishes for all!

So, teh first entry of this year will be related to my blog, specifically my blog stats. During december I upgraded my hosting plan to one that has more space and, most important of all, bandwidth: from 4GB to 10GB. That should work during this year, and there shouldn’t be downtime on my blog because the bandwidth blew.

On 2005, the month with most visits was december with 4784 unique visits, 10715 visits and 150312 hits. Adding all other months, there were a total of 28643 unique visits, 63911 visits and 809714 hits. I would like to thank everyone that keeps reading my blog during 2005, and lets keep the fun going! Thanks as well for the support, it’s really great to know that there’s people out there, from many parts of the world, that are really reading ^_^

2006, get ready!

(Another update is comming soon).
