Yesterday, today and tomorrow

Yep, I’m still alive. Who would imagine that a year ago, exactly this day, I decided to quit World of Warcraft, a game I used to play for over four years. Now thinking, I never mentioned that World of Warcraft was not my first MMORPG, back in those days there weren’t many options for Mac users (not like now that even if there’s no Mac version, you can always run Boot Camp). My first MMORPG was Lineage, a game by NCsoft. I can’t even remember when I started and when I quit that one, but it was also a couple of years.

I still haven’t had any urges to go back to play WoW, but I’ve been keeping touch with a couple of my friends (Burningfreeze and Shamusall). One of my buddies told me that now Mal’Ganis is almost completely full (more than before) of Horde and that most of the biggest Alliance guilds already moved out of the server. As for Cataclysm, Jape mentioned that it was expected to hit in November. At this point there aren’t any solid plans so I’ll refrain from commenting about it, at least for now. VGChartz says that there are almost 300,000 pre-orders for Cataclysm (Americas, Week Ending 18th Sep 2010) so far, weren’t there over 11.5 million accounts (December 2008)?

I was a bit upset when I found out that Final Fantasy XIV wasn’t going to be launched for PS3 until March of next year, but from some articles I’ve read these days (during closed beta and now the early launch), it might seem that the game isn’t as great as I thought. For now what’s holding my interest is DC Universe Online, expected to launch in November, haven’t pre-ordered yet because there are certain things that I haven’t been able to confirm yet (like some people say that for PS3 there will be a subscription, some say it will only be for the PC version).

If I end up playing any new MMORPG (or if the sky turns red and I end up going back when Cataclysm launches), expect the blog to be reactivated.

Oh, and yesterday I sent a tip to Joystiq and it got published, ^___^. So far I’ve seen it linked it in Destructoid.

Edit 10/04/2010: Yay, DC Universe Online got delayed until next year —_—. Meh.

Edit 10/04/2010: It’s official, Cataclysm launches on December 7.

Edit 09/30/2010: It seems that now the rumor is that Cataclysm is going to be launched in January 2011.

Je•llo, Je•llo

Nine months since I quit WoW and things have been fine, no anxiety or need to go back and play it. No plans of going back neither. I know that one of my wow buddies still plays, but just battlegrounds, the other one quit. Last thing I heard about the guild I was was that they transferred somewhere, no clue how they are doing, or if they still have most of the old members.

Haven’t played any new MMO at all (no Aion nor Champions Online), but I’m looking how it turns out Final Fantasy XIV and DC Universe Online (there was more information released in E3).

In other news, a new batch of games have arrived for my PlayStation®3: Split/Second, Demon’s Souls, Just Cause 2, God of War III, Bayonetta and Red Dead Redemption, gotta loooove Amazon ^^.

As for Cataclysm, to tell the truth I haven’t been following up the news; when is it that it launches?

Back to World of Warcraft…

not! After three months of stopping the World of Warcraft addiction I can say that I haven’t missed the game any single bit, not even when they sent that email saying that I had 7-day credit for accounts that were inactive or something. At this point I can’t really understand why people keeps saying that, after a couple of weeks, or a month, you feel that you need to go back to WoW. Also, in these past months I haven’t jumped to any MMO at all (remember I had plans for Champions Online or Aion?).

I kind of lost the interest on those things, but I gotta say that the information and screenshots that are coming out for Final Fantasy XIV look really nice, it’s probably one of those few games I’m looking forward to play (I never tried the first Final Fantasy MMO, but I heard it was pretty bad, tho).

The good thing is that yesterday I finally got my PS3 Slim 120GB, along with Batman: Arkham Asylum, Grand Theft Auto IV, Assassin’s Creed II, inFAMOUS, God of War: Collection and Valkyria Chronicles, so I’ll probably be busy for a while. ^^
